British Champions Sprint Stakes - 18th October, 2014

David O'Meara's G Force produced a sensational performance when landing the Betfred Sprint Cup at Haydock Park and the progressive sprinter has been supplemented for Saturday's British Champions Sprint Stakes, which is one of the many highlights on British Champions Day at Ascot.

He quickened with aplomb to land that coveted Group 1 prize and if he can replicate that sort of display then is entitled to be on the vicinity again, but there will be a whole host of speedsters doing battle and 2012 winner Maarek will aim to regain the title and is a prominent figure in the betting.

Gordon Lord Byron is a solid Group 1 performer and was last seen finishing second to Olympic Glory in the Prix De La Foret at Longchamp and he will be a popular choice amongst punters, whilst Eddie Lynam's Viztoria landed a Listed event last time out and will head to the Berkshire venue in decent form.

Jim Goldie's Jack Dexter was a cracking second to Slade Power in this race 12 months ago and whilst he hasn't been in top form of late he will relish the soft conditions and can't be discounted in this 6f contest, on a card that will see the Champion Stakes take centre stage.

Of the others, Tropics and Eton Forever can both land a blow if producing their best and have to be considered, whilst the likes of Gregorian and Baccarat add significant depth to what will be a cracking sprint contest on a sensational afternoon.
