The course is set in Colwick Park just 2 miles from the vibrant Nottingham city centre, it has played host to horse racing since 1773. It is a left handed course that used to play host to national hunt and flat racing but dropped national hunt from its racing schedule in the mid 90’s.
The racecourse holds 18 meetings throughout April – November each year with principal races being the Totesport Kilvington Stakes which is a listed race that takes place annually in May which is also a Ladies day and the Totepool Further Flight Stakes which is a listed race held in April.
Although Nottingham is viewed as a very fair track there is a draw stall advantage if you race next to the standside rail, so higher numbers are more favourable.
Trainers who have done well at this course in previous seasons include Saeed Bin Suroor and Sir Michael Stoute, with the top jockeys being Frankie Dettori and Ryan Moore.
