Newton Abbot Racecourse

The course is the most westerly racecourse in the United Kingdom and it is known as one leading summer jumping circuits in the country. The course is a tight flat left-handed oval of about 1m1f. There are seven fences to a circuit and a very short run in.

The racecourse plays host to18 race meetings during the May to September each year and is used for national hunt races. Principal races here are the Lord Mildmay Memorial Handicap Chase a listed race that is held annually in August as part of the Totesport Summer Jump Festival which also features the totesuper7 Handicap Hurdle.

Top trainers here are Paul Nicholls and David Pipe boosted by the fact that they both have top class stables nearby. The top jockeys here are AP McCoy and Richard Johnson.
