Got It

Downpatrick racecourse held its first meeting way back in 1685 and since then it has grown considerably and is still one of only two racecourses based in Northern Ireland.

Situated in County Down, Downpatrick racecourse is widely regarded as one of the friendliest racecourses around with a strong community feel to it.  Its new grandstand that can accommodate 1500 spectators has just added the tracks attraction as it hosts some decent national hunt action.

It's right-handed track, which is one mile and two furlongs in length has a tough uphill finish for runners, which means stamina is a must.

The highlight of the racing calendar at Downpatrick is the Ulster National, which is run in late February and attracts some top class chasers.
