Catterick Bridge Racecourse

Situated just five miles from Scotch Corner near the hamlet of Catterick the course at Catterick is a left-handed oval track that is just over a mile in length.

The course is one of the busiest in North Yorkshire which holds 27 meetings throughout the year. It is a dual purpose track that holds 17 flat race meetings and 10 national hunt races. Key races at this course are the Totepool Catterick Dash and the Weatherby’s Bloodstock Insurance Handicap Chase.

High numbers are favoured in the draw on five furlong races but in races over five furlongs when the ground is soft low numbers have the advantage.

Collier Hill the international flat racing champion won his first race here in March 2002.  The top trainer at this ground is Mark Johnston who is based nearby in Middleham Moor. The top flat  jockeys here are Greg Fairley and Silvestre De Sousa..
