May will see the Flat season burst into top gear and the hotly-anticipated Guineas festival at Newmarket will kick off the month in tremendous fashion and Dawn Approach and Toronado will lock horns in a mouth-watering 2000 Guineas crown, whilst emphatic Nell Gwyn Stakes winner Hot Snap will be a popular selection for the 1000 Guineas on May 5.

Chester's annual festival will take place in the middle of the month and the ultra-competitive Chester Cup will attract some classy stayers, whilst York's Dante festival will see the Dante Stakes be the primary attraction and it's sure to offer some vital clues for the Epsom Derby the following month.

The Curragh will host the Irish 1000 and 2000 Guineas and Aidan O'Brien is bound to have a strong battalion heading for those two Classics, whilst there will be more top class Group One action on May 31 as the Epsom Oaks will bring the curtain down on what will be a real treat for Flat fans with the three-year-olds certainly taking centre stage in a sensational month's action on the level.
