Although we are unlikely to see Quevega until the Cheltenham Festival she is always one to be on the right side of when the March extravaganza comes around again.

Having won the last three renewals of the David Nicholson Mares' Hurdle at Prestbury Park, Willie Mullins stable star will no doubt make her annual pilgrimage from the Co. Carlow stables to try and bag an unprecedented fourth crown in the contest.

A classy mare, she has dominated the female division for the last few years and with Mullins already having a leading Champion Hurdle fancy in Hurricane Fly it is very unlikely he will send Quevega for that contest.

Mullins has already eluded to the fact that he will try and mirror last season's campaign by giving her her reappearance in the Mares' contest at the Cheltenham Festival and currently a short-priced favourite to retain her title, who is going to stop her in her tracks.

Usually after Cheltenham she has been quickly sent out again and the last two seasons she has bagged Punchestown Festival glory in the Grade One World Series Hurdle.  Beating a stellar field last season including Coral Cup winner Carlito Brigante, the seven-year-old could head to that contest to round off a quiet, but potentially frutiful season for the Mullins yard.
