Touted as the one of the greatest horses to have ever been seen on a racecourse, Frankel has been simply phenomenonal, ever since he edged out Nathaniel in a maiden Newmarket in August 2010.

He has merely brushed aside all that has been thrown at him in a dismissive style worthy of any champion and has amassed a plethora of Group One titles during his short career, with his performance in the 2000 Guineas, one that will be etched in the memory for ever.

Tom Queally's decision to send the son Galileo would've been simply ludicrous aboard any other horse, but he knew that Sir Henry Cecil's raider would keep galloping and he duly smashed his rivals to storm to Classic glory.

Wins in the St James's Palace Stakes, Sussex Stakes and QEII Stakes maintained his unbeaten record and all eyes will look forward to him in the new 2012 flat season and a step up in distance could be on the menu for the Warren Place star.

Starting in the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury, Frankel could lock horns with some top class milers, who have been round the block, so he will certainly have a difficult opening to his season.  A visit to Royal Ascot is sure to follow, but the jury is out on whether he will stick to a mile and it's more likely he will be seen at the Queen Anne Stakes.

The Juddmonte International Stakes at the back end of the season could be his ultimate aim, as a race sponsored by his owner, Prince Khalid Abdullah could be the perfect race for him in August.

British Champions Day could be the final soiree on a racecourse, as Cecil has already eluded to the fact that he is not sure whether to hand him a trip to the Breeeders' Cup at the end of the season, so he may not be seen off these shores again for the 2012 seaon.
